Playing for Clubs

Bartosz was born in Poznań, Poland. He started playing football at a young age. He played for youth teams like TPS Winogrady Poznań and Poznaniak Poznań. Later, he joined the youth teams of Warta Poznań and Lech Poznań.
Early Career in Poland
Bartosz began his senior career with Lech Poznań. He even played in the UEFA Europa League qualifying games. After Lech Poznań, he played for Warta Poznań on loan. Then, he moved to Legia Warsaw. This move was a big deal because Lech and Legia are strong rivals in Polish football.
A UEFA Champions League Mix-up
In 2014, something unusual happened during a UEFA Champions League game. Bartosz was suspended for three European matches because of a red card he received earlier. His club, Legia Warsaw, accidentally forgot to list him in their team for some games. So, when he played as a substitute in a match against Celtic F.C., he was still supposed to be suspended. Even though Legia won the game, UEFA (the European football organization) changed the result to a 3-0 win for Celtic. This meant Legia was out of the competition. It was a tough lesson about following all the rules!
Moving to Italy
In January 2017, Bartosz moved to Italy. He signed a four-year contract with Sampdoria. He quickly became an important player for them.
In 2023, he joined Napoli on a temporary loan. Napoli won the Serie A league title that season, so Bartosz became a champion with them!
After Sampdoria moved down to a lower league, Bartosz played a couple of games for them. Then, in August 2023, he joined Empoli on another loan deal. This allowed him to keep playing in Italy's top league.
Playing for Poland
Bartosz played for Poland's national teams at different age levels, including the under-19, under-20, and under-21 teams. He made his first appearance for the main senior national team in 2013 against Liechtenstein.
He has represented his country in major tournaments. In June 2018, he was part of Poland's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup held in Russia. He also played in the UEFA Euro 2020 and 2022 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
About Bartosz
Bartosz's father, Przemysław Bereszyński, was also a professional football player. He is now a professional coach. In March 2020, Bartosz tested positive for COVID-19 during the pandemic in Italy, but he recovered.
