Bashkim Kadrii's Football Journey
Starting in Denmark
Bashkim Kadrii began his football career at a club called B.93. This team played in the Danish 2nd Division East, which is a football league in Denmark. He quickly became the top goal scorer for his club.
In late 2009, many Danish news outlets reported that two big clubs, OB and Dortmund, were interested in signing the young player. Bashkim decided to join OB, signing a four-year contract in mid-2010. A contract is an agreement that says he will play for the team for a certain number of years.
Soon after joining OB, Bashkim made his first appearance for the main team. This happened in a big European competition called the Europa League. His team, OB, played against Getafe and lost 1–2.
On December 5, 2011, Bashkim scored his first "hat-trick" for OB. A hat-trick means scoring three goals in a single game! This happened when OB won 4–0 against SønderjyskE right before the winter break.
In the summer of 2014, Bashkim moved to FC Copenhagen. They were the second-best team in Denmark at the time. He signed a four-year contract and was given the number 9 shirt. He scored the only goal in a 1–0 win against Brøndby IF, which was a very important victory against their main rivals.
Playing in the United States
On February 8, 2017, Bashkim went to play for Minnesota United FC in the MLS. MLS stands for Major League Soccer, which is the top football league in the United States. He joined them on a "loan" from FC Copenhagen. A loan means he played for Minnesota United for a short time, but he still belonged to FC Copenhagen.
Moving to Saudi Arabia and Back to Denmark
On January 27, 2020, Bashkim Kadrii joined a Saudi Arabian club called Al-Fateh SC. He played there for about a year.
Then, on February 9, 2021, Bashkim returned to his old club, OB. He joined them on a "free transfer," which means OB did not have to pay a fee to Al-Fateh to get him. He signed a new deal to play for OB until the summer of 2024.
Playing for Denmark
Bashkim Kadrii has played for several of Denmark's national youth teams. He played 18 games for the Denmark national under-19 football team and scored six goals. He also played four games for the Denmark national under-18 football team, scoring two goals. He was also part of the Denmark national under-20 football team and the Denmark national under-21 football team. In 2011, he even played one game for the main Denmark national football team.
