Bassett is a small city located in Rock County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is the main town, also called the county seat, for Rock County. In 2020, about 538 people lived there.

History of Bassett
Bassett was officially started in 1884. This happened shortly after a railroad line was built through the area, which helped the town grow. People aren't completely sure who the town was named after. It might have been named for A. N. Bassett or J. W. Basset, both early settlers in the region.
