The Battle of Deeg was an important fight in India. It happened on November 13, 1804. This battle was part of the Second Anglo-Maratha War. It took place near Deeg fort, which is now in Rajasthan, India.

The battle was fought between the British East India Company and a group of Indian forces. These Indian forces included the Maratha Empire and the Jats from Bharatpur.

What Happened at the Battle of Deeg?

The British East India Company was led by Major General Fraser. The Indian forces were led by Yashwantrao Holkar of the Maratha Empire. Maharaja Ranjit Singh led the Jats.

The battle happened outside the town of Deeg. The British forces were defeated by the Maratha and Jat armies. General Fraser was seriously injured during the fight. He later died from his wounds.

The British lost many soldiers. About 643 British soldiers were killed or wounded. The Maratha and Jat forces captured 87 of the British guns. The British had started with 160 guns.
