Batuco is a town in Chile. It is located in the Lampa area. In 2017, about 16,784 people lived there.
Where is Batuco Located?
Batuco is found in the Chacabuco part of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Two other places are nearby. Lo Solar is directly south of Batuco. Huertos Familiares is directly north. Batuco is about 28 kilometers (17 miles) northwest of downtown Santiago. It is also about 77 kilometers (48 miles) from Valparaíso.
Explore Batuco Lagoon
Just 3 kilometers (2 miles) northwest of Batuco, you will find Batuco Lagoon. This lagoon covers about 300 hectares. Much of the land around it is a wetland. Both the lagoon and wetland are famous for their many types of bird species. The lagoon also has high levels of nutrients. These include phosphorus, nitrogen, and chlorophyll.
