Bazlur Rahman Badal (born around 1921 or 1922 – died August 19, 2018) was a famous dancer from Bangladesh. He was honored with important awards for his dance. These included the Shilpakala Padak in 2014 and the Independence Day Award in 2017. The Government of Bangladesh gave him these awards for his amazing work in dance.
Bazlur Rahman Badal's Dance Journey
After the partition of India in 1947, Bazlur Rahman Badal moved to Rangpur. Later, he settled in Rajshahi. This is where he started his dance training. His first teacher was known as Dukhu Master.
Teaching Dance
Badal loved to share his knowledge of dance. He taught many students at Rajshahi's Shilpakala Academy. He helped young dancers learn and grow.
Dance Style and Achievements
Bazlur Rahman Badal was especially good at folk dance. Folk dance is a traditional style of dance. He became very well-known for his dance performances. He created a special dance based on the famous poem Bidrohi. This poem was written by Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Badal also played a big role in the dance community. He was the president of the Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Sangstha in Rajshahi. This organization helps dancers and promotes dance in the country.
