The Independence Day Award (Bengali: স্বাধীনতা পদক), also known as the Independence Award or Swadhinata Padak, is the highest honor given by the government of Bangladesh. It's like the biggest "thank you" a person or group can get from their country!
This special award was first given out in 1977. It was started by President Ziaur Rahman. The award celebrates people and organizations from Bangladesh who have done amazing things.
