The Story of Bean Pole
Bean Pole started in 1989. It was created by a company called Cheil Industries, which later joined with Samsung C&T Corporation. When it first began, Bean Pole was known as a modern fashion brand for young men.
From its start until 1996, Bean Pole grew a lot, with sales increasing by about 30% each year. By the year 2000, it was the most popular "traditional casual" brand in South Korea. Even when many new casual brands appeared in the 1990s, Bean Pole stayed successful. People loved its high-quality clothes and how well it met their needs.
In 2019, Bean Pole announced some exciting changes for its 30th anniversary. They decided to refresh their brand, and these changes were shown in their spring/summer collection of 2020. The new sub-brand, 890311, was launched. Its designs were inspired by the 1960s and 1970s, a time when Western culture became more popular in Korea. Bean Pole also shared plans to expand and sell its products in other countries, like Vietnam and North America.
How the Bean Pole Logo Changed

Since it began, Bean Pole has often updated its logo. They have made small changes over time. Some of the biggest changes to the logo happened in 2019. Bean Pole created a new logo using the Korean alphabet, hangul, which shows off their unique brand style.
Bean Pole Stores
In 2003, Bean Pole opened a special main store, called a flagship store, in Myeong-dong, Seoul. This was the first time a South Korean brand had its own flagship store. The building had four floors! It featured shops for Bean Pole Jeans, Ladies, Golf, Homme (men's), and Kids.
The company's CEO, Won Jong-woon, explained why they opened this big store. He said that in department stores, clothes for men, women, and children are on different floors. This makes it hard to show all of Bean Pole's products together with the same style. With their own store, people could do "one-stop shopping" and see everything easily. A second flagship store was opened in Daegu in 2009.
Cool Partnerships and Collaborations
Bean Pole has worked with famous designers from other countries since 2010. That year, Scott Steinberg, a designer for Band of Outsiders, teamed up with Bean Pole. They created a special small collection of clothes together.
For the spring/summer season of 2011, Bean Pole worked with English designer Kim Jones. Their partnership was so successful that they continued to work together for the fall/winter season too. After working with Kim Jones, Bean Pole collaborated with Christophe Lemaire. He was the director for women's clothing at the famous brand Hermès at the time. Together, they created a menswear line called Novö.
