Victor Ray Wilson (born February 20, 1959 – died April 30, 1996), known to many as Beatmaster V, was an American musician. He was the talented drummer for the metal band Body Count.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Victor Ray Wilson grew up in South Central, Los Angeles. He went to Crenshaw High School with future bandmates Ice-T and Ernie C. From a young age, Victor loved music and played instruments whenever he could. He even played music at his local church.

Beatmaster V was very good at playing drums and other instruments. By the time he was just 11 years old, he was playing drums with famous blues musician Lou Rawls. He kept learning and practicing, becoming an even better musician.

Joining Body Count

Beatmaster V helped form the heavy metal band Body Count. He joined with guitarist Ernie C, singer Ice-T, bassist Mooseman, and rhythm guitarist D-Roc. The band officially started while Ice-T was recording his fourth hip hop album, O.G. Original Gangster.

After practicing a lot, Body Count started performing in clubs around Los Angeles. They quickly became popular. The band then went on to play at the original Lollapalooza festival. They also toured and performed in many other places across America and around the world.

Later Years

Sadly, Victor Ray Wilson passed away in 1996. He died from leukemia, a type of cancer. After his death, a family member named Jonathon James played as a backup drummer for Body Count. He helped with the album Violent Demise: The Last Days.
