History of Beaver Dunes Park
Beaver Dunes Park was once a state park managed by Oklahoma. In 2011, the State of Oklahoma announced plans to close the park. This was part of a plan to save money. However, local people, like Laurie Anderson from Beaver, Oklahoma, worked hard to keep it open. Their efforts were successful! On August 15, 2011, the park was officially given to the City of Beaver. This meant the city would now manage and care for the park.
