Cool Places to See
The most famous spot in Benifaió is the Tower of la Plaça. This tower was once part of a much bigger building. It was a defensive structure, like a mini-castle or a palace. The buildings next to it were also part of this old palace.
History of the Tower
For a long time, the tower was connected to the old Town Hall. But in 1978, the Town Hall building was taken down. This left the tower standing on its own on three sides.
Over the years, the tower has been used for many different things. It was a storage place for goods, a prison, and even a home for pigeons!
Inside the Tower
The inside of the tower has special ceilings called vaults. These vaults were built using cane sticks and mud. On the first floor, there's a tall staircase that goes up through all four levels of the tower.
Around the tower, there are also some old Gothic tunnels. These tunnels have special arches inside them. They are not open for visitors right now, but they are very interesting historical features.
International Friends
Benifaió has special connections with other towns around the world. These are called "twin towns" or "sister cities." It means they share friendly ties and often learn from each other.
