Benjamin Franklin Haines (born November 25, 1876 – died 1942) was an American lawyer and politician. He was also a businessman in Florida. Haines held important roles in government. He served as a member of the Medford, Massachusetts Board of Aldermen. He was also part of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Haines was the eighth Mayor of Medford, Massachusetts. Later, he became the Mayor of Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Benjamin Franklin Haines was born in Boston, Massachusetts. His birthday was November 25, 1876. His father was John DeMaugh Haines, a businessman. His mother was Kate Luslie (Phillips) Haines.
His Marriage and Children
On June 11, 1902, Benjamin Haines married Carrie Gibbs Bly. She was a teacher. They had two sons together. Their names were Webber Bly Haines and Lewis DeMaugh Haines.
Becoming a Lawyer
Benjamin Haines studied law and became an attorney. He started practicing law in Boston in 1900. This means he worked as a lawyer.
Serving as Mayor in Massachusetts
Benjamin Haines became the Mayor of Medford, Massachusetts. He was elected on December 8, 1914. He won the election against the previous mayor, Charles S. Taylor. Haines served as mayor for several years.
Helping Write State Rules
In 1916, the state of Massachusetts decided to hold a special meeting. This meeting was called a Constitutional Convention. Its purpose was to review and update the state's main rules, called the Constitution.
