Bennett has a public school called Bennett Community School. This school district serves the town of Bennett and the nearby town of New Liberty, Iowa, as well as the surrounding countryside.
The school used to teach all grades from kindergarten to 12th grade. However, starting in the 2005-2006 school year, the junior and senior high school (grades 7-12) began to share classes with a school in Durant. This change happened because fewer students were enrolling and the school had budget problems. The elementary school (for younger students) still operates in Bennett as it did before.
