Early Life
Benyamin, whose birth name is Vahid Bahadori, was born into a traditional Muslim family. He grew up in a small neighborhood in the south of Tehran. He loved music from a young age. To honor his family's background, he chose the stage name Benyamin. This name comes from Hebrew and refers to a Biblical figure.
Music Albums
Benyamin's first album, "85", was an instant success and made him a star very quickly. Popular songs from this album include "Khatereha" (Memories) and "Adam Ahani" (Robot). In September 2006, Benyamin traveled to Sweden for concerts in Stockholm. This was the start of his international shows. However, he did not perform concerts in Iran until four years later.
His second album, "88", was released in April 2009. It sold 500,000 copies in just one week! This album has 17 songs, which is the most in any of his albums. Some popular songs from "88" are "Shenasnameh", "Kojaye Donyai" (Where in the world), and "Sedaye Ghalbe to" (Sound of your heart).
The third album, "93", came out in March 2014 after a five-year break. Fans were very excited for it. Songs from this album include "Ghahve" (Coffee), "Madar" (Orbit), and "Hafte Eshgh" (Week of Love).
His latest album, "94", was released in July 2015. This was a surprise for fans because it came out just over a year after "93". This album includes songs like "Eshkal", "Havasam Be Toe", and "Barana", which he sang for his daughter, Barana Bahadori. Benyamin also tried adding English lyrics to some songs in this album.
Benyamin names his albums after the year they were released, according to the Persian calendar. He has also created religious-themed songs like "Agham Agham" and "Karbala".
