Bernard Genghini (born 18 January 1958) is a former professional football player from France. He was a talented midfielder who played for many top clubs. He also proudly represented his country on the international stage.

Bernard Genghini was born in Soultz-Haut-Rhin, France. He started his professional football journey in 1976. Over his career, he played for several famous French clubs. These included Sochaux, Saint-Étienne, Monaco, Marseille, and Bordeaux. He also had a short time playing for Servette in Switzerland.

Playing for France

Bernard Genghini was a key player for the French national team. He played in 27 matches and scored 6 goals for his country. He took part in three major international tournaments.

He played in the 1982 World Cup. During this tournament, he scored impressive goals from free kicks. These goals were against teams like Kuwait and Austria. France finished in fourth place in that World Cup.

Two years later, he was part of the team that won the 1984 European Championships. This was a huge victory for France! Bernard Genghini played as a substitute in the exciting final match.

He also played in the 1986 World Cup. France performed well again, securing third place in the competition. His time with the national team ended in 1986.
