Bert Convy (born July 23, 1933 – died July 15, 1991) was a talented American actor, singer, and game show host. He was famous for hosting popular TV game shows like Tattletales, Super Password, and Win, Lose or Draw.

Early Life and Beginnings
Bert Convy was born in St. Louis, Missouri. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Los Angeles. He attended North Hollywood High School, where he was a great athlete.
When he was 17, the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team offered him a contract. He played Minor League Baseball for two years. Later, he joined a singing group called The Cheers. They had a Top-10 hit song in 1955 called "Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots". Convy also earned a bachelor's degree from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Early Acting and Broadway
After his time in baseball, Bert Convy started his career in entertainment. He performed as a singer in the Billy Barnes Revues. He also appeared on Art Linkletter's House Party in 1956.
Convy became a successful Broadway actor. He played Perchik in the original cast of Fiddler on the Roof (1964). He also appeared in The Impossible Years (1965). He created the role of Cliff Bradshaw in the musical Cabaret (1966). On TV, he guest-starred in shows like The Partridge Family.
Game Show Host and Panelist
In the 1960s and 1970s, Convy was a popular guest on many game shows. He appeared on What's My Line?, To Tell the Truth, and Match Game. He also appeared on Password.
Soon, he became a host himself. He hosted Tattletales from 1974 to 1978 and again from 1982 to 1984. For Tattletales, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host in 1977. He also hosted Super Password from 1984 to 1989.
Bert Convy and actor Burt Reynolds started their own production company. Their first show was the game show Win, Lose or Draw, which began in 1987. Convy hosted the syndicated version of this show for two seasons. He then hosted another show from his company called 3rd Degree.
Acting Roles
Bert Convy acted full-time starting in 1956. He performed in 10 Broadway shows. These included Cabaret and Fiddler on the Roof. In Fiddler on the Roof, he sang "Now I Have Everything".
He also guest-starred in many TV series. These included Perry Mason and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He was also on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Hawaii Five-O. Convy appeared in Charlie's Angels and Murder, She Wrote too.
Convy starred in several movies. He was in Semi-Tough (1977) and The Cannonball Run (1981). He also directed a comedy movie called Weekend Warriors (1986).
Personal Life
Bert Convy was married twice. He married Anne Anderson in 1959. They had three children: Jennifer, Joshua, and Jonah. They divorced in 1991. Five months before he passed away, Convy married Catherine Hills.
Later Years and Passing
In April 1990, Bert Convy became ill and was diagnosed with a serious brain tumor. This made him stop working. On July 15, 1991, Bert Convy died at his home. He was 57 years old. He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
