Beryl Friday (born 19 January 1994) is an amazing Australian netball player. She was a key part of the Queensland Firebirds teams that won the big 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championship titles. Beryl has also played for many other teams, including Queensland Fusion, Territory Storm, Canberra Giants, Team Bath in the UK, and West Coast Fever.

About Beryl's Life
Beryl Friday grew up in Ingham, which is in North Queensland. She is an Aboriginal Australian woman with family connections to several different nations, including the Kuku Nyungkal and Kuku Yalanji people.
She was one of five children. Her mom and two older sisters loved netball, so Beryl started playing at just eight years old. A famous netball coach, Vicki Wilson, noticed Beryl's talent at a clinic. This led to Beryl getting a special sports scholarship to attend St Margaret's Anglican Girls' School. As of 2021, Beryl is studying to become a teacher at Griffith University.

Playing for Queensland
From 2011 to 2015, Beryl played for her home state, Queensland, in national championships. She played at different age levels, including under-17, under-19, and under-21. She was even a vice-captain and then captain of the under-21 team!
Winning with Queensland Firebirds
Beryl was a very important player for the Queensland Firebirds. She helped them win two major championships in a row: the 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championship titles. These were huge wins for the team!
Playing in the Australian Netball League
Beryl also played for several teams in the Australian Netball League (ANL), which is a top league in Australia.
- Queensland Fusion: From 2012 to 2015, she played for Queensland Fusion. In 2014, her team finished as runners-up, almost winning the championship!
- Territory Storm: In 2017, Beryl played for Territory Storm.
- Canberra Giants: In 2018, she joined Canberra Giants. She helped them reach the grand final, where they finished as runners-up. Beryl scored 22 goals in that final game!
Playing Overseas with Team Bath
Beryl even played netball in England! She joined Team Bath for the 2018 British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship and the 2019 Netball Superleague. She made her first Superleague appearance in January 2019.
Joining West Coast Fever
In 2019, Beryl played for West Coast Fever in the Suncorp Super Netball league. She joined as a temporary player and made her debut in August 2019.
Playing in Queensland State Leagues
Beryl has also played for many teams in netball competitions within Queensland. She played for Carina Leagues Club Tigers and even won the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award twice! Later, she played for QUT Wildcats and USQ Ipswich Jets.
Beryl as a Coach and Role Model
Beryl is not just a player; she's also a coach, mentor, and ambassador!
- In 2021, she helped start the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee for Netball Queensland.
- She is an ambassador for the Brisbane Broncos' Beyond the Broncos Girls Academy, helping young girls.
- In March 2021, Beryl became an assistant coach for the Netball Queensland's under-17 team. She helps train the next generation of netball stars!
