These are people who helped the United States. They needed to move to the U.S. for safety.

A Message of Hope

In April 2013, a sad event happened in Boston. It was called the Boston Marathon bombings. After this, Beth Murphy created a special photo series. It was called "To Boston. From Kabul. With Love." She took pictures of people in Kabul, Afghanistan. They held a sign that said "TO BOSTON FROM KABUL WITH LOVE." Beth had made this sign for herself. She wanted to send a message home.

When Beth talked to people in Kabul, they felt sad about what happened in Boston. Many had heard the news. They understood the pain. They said, "I'm so sorry." This showed their deep understanding. Beth wanted to share their kindness. She wanted to show that people everywhere care.
