Beverly is a special kind of carbonated soft drink. It was made by The Coca-Cola Company for people in Italy. Beverly was first introduced in 1969. It's known as a non-alcoholic apéritif. An apéritif is a drink people have before a meal. Some believe it helps with digestion.
Beverly was stopped in Italy in 2009 because of changes in the drink market there. However, you can still try it in a few special places.
What Makes Beverly Unique?
Many people in America know Beverly because of its very bitter taste. You can try it at special Coca-Cola tasting stations. These stations are found at the World of Coca-Cola museums. One is in Atlanta, Georgia, and another is in Las Vegas, Nevada.
You can also find Beverly at the Coca-Cola Store in Disney Springs. Another popular spot is Epcot's Club Cool. Both of these are inside Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Bitter Flavor
The unique bitter taste of Beverly comes from an ingredient called grapefruit rind. This is the outer skin of a grapefruit. It contains very bitter parts that give Beverly its distinct flavor.
