Alexa's New Adventure
This story brings back Alexa Daley for another big journey. A whole year has passed since her first amazing adventure with the animals. Life in her town, Jocasta, has become quite boring.
But then, her friend Yipes returns with an important letter. It's from Thomas Warvold, a mysterious and powerful figure. The letter tells Alexa she must travel far away. Her quest will take her beyond the Dark Hills and past the dangerous Valley of Thorns.
Meeting New Friends
Alexa bravely sets out on this new mission. Yipes joins her, and they soon gain more companions. Their team grows to include Odessa the wolf and Squire the hawk. Murphy the squirrel also joins their group. A man named John Christopher, who has a past, also becomes part of their journey.
Together, they face many challenges. They even escape a huge swarm of black bats. During their travels, they uncover a big secret. They learn that Warvold's wife, Renny, is alive. She was taken by a man named Victor Grindall. Grindall wants her to reveal where the last Jocasta is hidden.
The Seraphs and Evil
The group also discovers an ancient, mystical race called Seraphs. One of these Seraphs turned evil. This evil Seraph has infected Grindall and the other Seraphs. These infected Seraphs are now just giants filled with evil.
However, the group finds one good Seraph named Armon. He has avoided the evil black bats for many years. Armon is the only good giant left. He helps Alexa and her friends. He guides them safely across the deadly Valley of Thorns. Their journey then leads them into a place called Castalia.
Fighting the Ogres
In Castalia, the group finds a place called The City of Dogs. It is now an old dumping ground. Two packs of dogs live there, led by Piggott and Scroggs. These dog leaders agree to help fight Grindall and his ogres.
Forming an Army
A rebellious villager from Castalia, named Balmoral, also joins their cause. Together, they form an army. They bravely fight against Grindall's forces. They manage to defeat almost all of the ogres.
Then, they make an amazing discovery. They find Renny and Thomas Warvold in the dungeons of the Dark Tower. Thomas Warvold later explains that he had faked his death.
A Dangerous Escape
But the fight is not over. Grindall and ten ogres manage to escape. They take Yipes with them. As they flee, they cause the Dark Tower to crash down. Grindall then sends a terrifying message. He threatens to kill Yipes if Alexa does not meet him in Bridewell in five days. She must bring the last Jocasta with her.
The story ends with a new journey. Roland Warvold, Thomas's brother, arrives. He takes the entire group, including Balmoral, onto his ship. They sail away on the Lonely Sea, ready for their next adventure.
