This Bible was created by a man named Pierre Robert Olivétan. He lived from about 1506 to 1538. Many people believe he was a cousin of John Calvin. John Calvin was a very important religious leader during that time.
Olivétan worked hard to translate the Bible into French. He wanted people to be able to read the Bible in their own language. He finished his first Bible translation in 1535. It was printed in Neuchâtel, a town in Switzerland. This made it one of the first complete French Bibles.
