What Does Their Name Mean?
The Bibulman people's own name for themselves, called an autonym, might come from a word for a stingray. This word is pibilum.
Where Did the Bibulman Live?
The Bibulman people lived on a large area of land. It was about 3,100 square miles (8,000 square kilometers) in size. This land was in the southwest of Western Australia.
They mostly lived near the lower part of the Blackwood River. They also lived in the hills between the Blackwood River and the Warren River. Their land stretched east to the Gardner River and Broke Inlet. The Scott River was also part of their territory. Inland, their land reached places like Manjimup and Bridgetown.
