Bieber is a small town in Lassen County, California. It used to be called Chalk Ford. You can find it near the Pit River, about 55 miles (88 km) northwest of Susanville. It sits high up, at 4,124 feet (1,257 meters) above sea level.

History of Bieber
The town of Bieber started in 1877. It grew up around a place where people could cross the Pit River. The first post office in Bieber also opened that same year.
The town was named after Nathan Bieber. He was a shopkeeper who lived there. Bieber became an important spot for trains. It was a major meeting point for the Great Northern and Western Pacific railroads. These railroads carried goods and people between the north and south. Today, the BNSF Railway owns these train lines.
