Kenneth Doniell Moore (born August 20, 1974 – died October 14, 2007), known as Big Moe, was an American rapper. He came from Houston, Texas. He was known for his unique style in Southern hip hop music.
Early Life and School
Kenneth Doniell Moore was born in Houston, Texas. He grew up in the southeast part of the city. In 1992, he finished high school at Yates High School. He was a talented football player there.
Music Career Highlights
Big Moe began his music journey in Houston, Texas. He was one of the first members of a group called the "Original Screwed Up Click." He started by freestyling on DJ Screw's mixtapes. This was a common way for many Houston artists to begin.
He later signed with Wreckshop Records. His first album, City of Syrup, came out in 2000. This album featured a popular song called "Mann!".
In 2002, Big Moe released his second album, Purple World. This album included many other Houston singers. It also had two versions of his hit song, "Purple Stuff." The music video for "Purple Stuff" was shown on MTV. The album reached number 3 on Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
His third and final album, Moe Life, was released in 2003. It featured the successful song "Just a Dog." After he passed away, another album called Unfinished Business was released in 2008. In 2009, his album City of Syrup was named one of the best Houston Hip-Hop Albums.
His Passing
Big Moe passed away on October 14, 2007. He was 33 years old. He had a serious health issue one week before, which led to his passing.
