Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan was born on April 23, 1981. He is a Turkish businessman and the second child of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is the current President of Turkey.
Early Life and Education
Bilal Erdoğan was born on April 24, 1981. His parents are Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan. He has an older brother named Ahmet Burak Erdoğan and two younger sisters, Esra Erdoğan and Sümeyye Erdoğan.
After finishing high school in Turkey in 1999, Bilal moved to the United States. He studied at Indiana University Bloomington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science and economics. Later, in 2004, he completed his master's degree at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Career Highlights
After finishing his studies, Bilal Erdoğan worked as an intern at the World Bank for a short time. He returned to Turkey in 2006 and began his business career.
He is one of the main shareholders of a company called BMZ Group Denizcilik ve İnşaat Sanayi Anonym Şirketi. This company works in marine transportation, which means it deals with moving goods or people by sea. Bilal Erdoğan is also on the governing board of the Turkish Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), which is a foundation that supports young people.
Personal Life
Bilal Erdoğan married Reyyan Uzuner in 2003. They have three children together: two sons named Ömer Tayyip and Ali Tahir, and a daughter named Fatıma Serra.
In October 2014, Bilal Erdoğan and his family moved to Bologna, Italy, for a period. He went there to continue his PhD studies at The Johns Hopkins University SAIS Bologna Center.
