Bill Peach (born William Norman Peach, 15 May 1935 – 27 August 2013) was a famous Australian TV journalist. He was best known for hosting a popular news show called This Day Tonight on the ABC from 1967 to 1975.

Early Life and Education
Bill Peach was born in 1935 in a town called Lockhart, in New South Wales, Australia. He went to a boarding school, St Stanislaus College, and later studied at the University of Sydney. This is where he met his wife, Shirley.
A Career in Media
Bill Peach started his TV career at the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) in 1958. Later, he worked for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) in London and New York for three years. He helped sell TV shows to other countries.
In 1965, Bill Peach came back to Australia. He joined Network Ten and helped create Telescope. This was Australia's very first current affairs TV show. In 1966, he worked as a reporter for the ABC show Four Corners.
Hosting This Day Tonight
In 1967, Bill Peach became the main host for the ABC's new evening news show, This Day Tonight. He hosted this important show for eight years. It became very popular.
In 1975, Bill Peach left This Day Tonight. He won a Logie Award that year. This award was for his great work on the show. After that, he hosted a travel show called Peach's Australia. He also wrote books about Australia's early explorers.
Travel and Tourism
After his TV career, Bill Peach started his own travel company. It was called Bill Peach Journeys.
In 1991, he was given a special award. He became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM). This was for his important work in both media and tourism.
Later Life
Bill Peach passed away in Sydney on 27 August 2013. He was 78 years old.
