William Clintard Robinzine (born January 20, 1953 – died September 16, 1982) was an American professional basketball player. He was born in Chicago and grew to be 6 feet 7 inches tall. He played as a power forward.
Bill Robinzine played for seven seasons in the NBA. He was part of teams like the Kansas City Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, and Utah Jazz. He is often remembered for being near the basket when Darryl Dawkins famously shattered a backboard in 1979. Bill quickly moved away to avoid the falling glass!
Bill Robinzine's NBA Career
Bill Robinzine was known as a very strong rebounder. He was also one of the best defensive players at his position. He played for the Kansas City Kings for five seasons. During this time, he often scored more than ten points per game.
After playing for the Kings, Bill joined the Cleveland Cavaliers. Later, he had a great comeback with the Dallas Mavericks. In Dallas, he became one of the team's top scorers. His last season was with the Utah Jazz in 1981-82.
