The History of Billmore

How Billmore Got Its Name

The name "Billmore" comes from a nearby natural feature. The community is located in a valley, which is a low area between hills or mountains. This specific valley is known as Billmore Hollow. So, the people who settled here decided to name their community after the valley.

The Old Post Office

A long time ago, Billmore had its own post office. It was opened in 1885. This was an important place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office helped connect the small community with the rest of the world. However, it didn't stay open forever. The Billmore post office closed its doors in 1906.
