The Binoculars Building is a super cool office building in Venice, California. It's famous for its giant binoculars sculpture right on the front! Today, it's home to Google's offices.
This unique building was finished in 1991. It was first built for an advertising company called Chiat/Day. A famous architect named Frank Gehry designed the building.
The Giant Binoculars Sculpture
The most eye-catching part of the building is the huge artwork on its front. It's called Giant Binoculars. Artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen created this amazing sculpture.
The giant binoculars are not just for show. They actually cover the main entrances! You can drive into the parking garage right between the two "telescopes" of the binoculars. There's also a path for people to walk through.
Google's Home in Venice
The building has about 75,000 square feet of space. Before construction could start, some old, unsafe materials had to be removed from the site. This caused a short delay in building the offices.
In 2011, Google became the main tenant of the Binoculars Building. Google also added two other buildings nearby. This helped them create a bigger office space in Los Angeles.
