Birds of Wales was a Canadian indie folk rock band from Toronto. The band members were Morgan Cameron Ross (who sang and played guitar), Ben Standage (drums), Daniel Taylor (bass guitar), Mike Caputo (guitar and banjo), and Paul Barry (percussion).
They traveled to Europe five times for tours. They played with many different bands like Xavier Rudd, Dragonette, and The Sadies. Their music video for "Cinderella" was shown a lot on a TV channel called MuchMoreMusic. Their songs were also played a lot on radio stations in North America and the UK.

Their Music Journey
In 2006, the band released their first collection of songs. It was called Birds of Wales. This was an EP, which means it had fewer songs than a full album. Many radio stations in Canada played their songs. Their music was also heard across North America on Sirius XM. One song, "My Lady in July," was very popular. It was the most played song on The Verge in June 2006.
Their second EP, Fall of the 49, came out in 2007. This EP helped them gain fans in Europe. They went on five successful tours there in just 16 months. They even toured with famous artists like Thomas Dolby and The Jam. The first song from Fall of the 49 was "Cinderella Has Nothing on You." This song was part of a special CD. About 560,000 copies of this CD were given out in Ireland. The music video for "Cinderella Has Nothing on You" was also played often on MuchMoreMusic in Canada.
Birds of Wales released their first full album in 2010. It was called Belgravia Hotel. This album was released with Sparks Music and EMI. The first song from this album was "Uninteresting."
What Happened Next?
Birds of Wales stopped making music together in 2011. After the band broke up, the members went on to do other things. Morgan Cameron Ross recorded his own music. He also played with a band called Bellwoods. He wrote songs for many other artists too. These artists included Ryan Cabrera and Ron Sexsmith. Ben Standage joined another band called Down I Go.
