Birdworld is a huge bird park in the United Kingdom. It covers about 26 acres, which is like 20 football fields! You can find it in East Hampshire, near the village of Bucks Horn Oak. It's also close to the beautiful Alice Holt Forest.

Birdworld is not just for birds. It also has a fun children's farm called Jenny Wren. This park is part of a bigger company called Haskins Garden Centres.

What Birds Live at Birdworld?

Birdworld is home to over 180 different types of birds. Many of these birds are quite rare. Some are even critically endangered, meaning they are very close to disappearing from the wild.

  • Endangered Birds: You can see special birds like the Bali starling, the Montserrat oriole, and the northern bald ibis. There's also the clever Kea parrot from New Zealand.
  • Pelican Island: Look out for the large group of great white pelicans. They live on their own island.
  • Parrot Aviary: Birdworld has one of the biggest free-flying parrot aviaries in the country. This means the parrots can fly around freely inside a huge netted area.
  • Seashore Aviary: Explore a special aviary designed to look like a seashore. Here you can see birds that live near the ocean.
  • Owl Parliament: Don't miss the Terry Pratchett Owl Parliament. It's a cool place where many different kinds of owls live.

Other Cool Animals and Attractions

Birdworld isn't only about birds. There are other interesting animals to discover too.

  • Tortoises: You can find a group of Hermann's tortoises roaming around the park.
  • Wild Herons: Keep an eye out for wild grey herons. They often visit the park because they are attracted to the fish fed to the Humboldt penguins and pelicans.
