Maurice H. "Bo" Ellis (born August 8, 1954) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played as a power forward.

Bo Ellis grew up in Chicago and went to Parker High School. After high school, he became a college basketball star.

College Basketball Career

Bo Ellis played college basketball at Marquette University. He was a tall player, standing 6 feet 9 inches (206 cm) tall. In 1977, his team won the NCAA Championship. This is one of the biggest achievements in college basketball!

Designing Team Uniforms

While in college, Bo Ellis was also an art major. He took classes at Mount Mary College to study fashion design. He used his artistic skills to create several different uniform designs for his Marquette team. His designs were actually worn by the team during their championship season in 1977. This was a very unique contribution!

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Bo Ellis played professional basketball for three seasons. He joined the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, which is the top professional basketball league. During his time with the Nuggets, he averaged about 3.6 points per game.

He also played for other teams like the Maine Lumberjacks and the Sarasota Stingers.

Coaching and Later Work

After his playing career, Bo Ellis became a basketball coach. He worked as an assistant coach at his old college, Marquette, for many years. He also coached at Chicago State University.

More recently, Bo Ellis has worked with the athletics department for the Chicago Public Schools. He helps manage sports programs for students in Chicago.
