Robert Lee Nash (born August 24, 1950) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. He was picked ninth overall in the 1972 NBA draft. Nash played six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Detroit Pistons and Kansas City Kings. He also played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).
After his playing career, Nash became a coach. He was an assistant coach for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors for twenty years. In 2007, he became the head coach and led the team for three seasons. Later, Nash moved to Japan in 2010. There, he coached teams like the Saitama Broncos, Toyama Grouses, and Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka.

Bob Nash's Basketball Journey
Early Life and College Play
Bob Nash graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1968. He then played college basketball for the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the early 1970s. He was a key player on one of the school's most successful men's basketball teams at that time.
Professional Playing Career
Nash played professionally during the 1970s. He was a member of the Detroit Pistons and the Kansas City Kings in the NBA. He also played for the San Diego Conquistadors in the ABA. In the 1979–80 season, he played for the Hawaii Volcanos in the CBA.
Transition to Coaching
In 1987, Nash became an assistant coach at Hawaii. He held this position for many years. In April 2007, he was promoted to head coach, taking over from Riley Wallace. He coached the team for three seasons. He finished with a record of 34 wins and 56 losses. He was later fired after the 2009–10 season.
In 2004, Bob Nash was honored for his achievements. He was inducted into the Hartford Public High School Hall of Fame.
Coaching in Japan
In 2010, Nash became the head coach of the Saitama Broncos in Japan's bj league. His son, Bobby, also played for the team. Nash left the team after the major Japanese earthquake in March 2011. The team stopped playing for the rest of that season.
From 2012 to 2017, Nash served as the head coach for the Toyama Grouses in the bj league. He later coached the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka from 2018 to 2019.
