Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Battista (born July 23, 1952 – died March 3, 2020) was an American journalist. She was a well-known newscaster on CNN. Bobbie worked for CNN for 20 years. During this time, she hosted many shows on CNN, CNN Headline News, and CNN International.

Education
Bobbie Battista studied at Northwestern University. She earned a bachelor's degree in radio, television, and film production. This means she learned how to make TV shows and movies.
Career Highlights
Bobbie started her career at a radio station in Raleigh, North Carolina. Later, she worked at WRAL-TV. There, she was an anchor, reporter, and producer. She helped write and produce a documentary called Fed up with Fear in 1981. This documentary won a special award called a Peabody Award. In 2006, Bobbie went back to WRAL for a special newscast. It celebrated the station's 60th birthday.
Working at CNN
Bobbie was one of the first anchors on CNN Headline News. In 1988, she moved to the main CNN network. She hosted many daily shows. She also worked as an anchor and reporter.

In 1998, Bobbie became the host of TalkBack Live. This was a new kind of talk show. It let viewers interact with the show. Bobbie left CNN in 2001. This was after CNN's parent company, Time Warner, joined with America Online.
After CNN, she worked with her husband's company. She gave advice to large companies. Bobbie also stayed active in television. She was a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).
In 2009, Bobbie sometimes worked for the Onion News Network (ONN). This was a comedy news show. In 2014, she started hosting "On the Story" on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Awards and Recognition
Bobbie Battista received several awards while working at CNN. She wrote and produced a series about youth crime. This series involved five different TV stations. For this work, she won a Peabody Awards.
