About Bobby Creekwater

Early Life and Music Start

Bobby Creekwater grew up in different parts of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Clark Atlanta University for one year. However, he decided to leave college to focus on his music career.

He formed a hip-hop group called Jatis with Charlie Jangles. They signed with Columbia Records and then Loud Records. Sadly, Loud Records closed down before Jatis could release their album.

Joining Shady Records

In 2004, before he had a record deal, Bobby Creekwater appeared on a song. It was called "Anyway" with Aasim, from P-Money's album Magic City.

Executives at Shady Records noticed him when they heard him rapping on a demo tape. Eminem, who is the president of Shady Records, was very impressed. He signed Bobby Creekwater to his label in mid-2005.

Releasing Music and Mixtapes

In late 2005, Bobby Creekwater released a mixtape called Anthem to the Streets. A mixtape is a collection of songs, often released for free. It helps artists share their music and show off their skills.

In March 2006, he was a special guest at the Detroit Hip-Hop Summit. This event taught people about managing their money.

On December 5, 2006, Eminem released Eminem Presents the Re-Up. This album was made to introduce new artists on Shady Records. These artists included Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater, and Cashis. Bobby Creekwater appeared on five songs on the album. Critics liked his unique sound and smooth rapping style.

In 2007, he released two more mixtapes: Anthem 2 Da Streetz II and Back to Briefcase. A critic from The Washington Post praised his song "Acid Reign." They said he had "effortless rhymes" and a cool, confident style.

Later Career and Leaving Shady

Bobby Creekwater worked on his first official album, A Brilliant Mistake. Eminem was the main producer for this album. Other producers like Mr. Porter, The Alchemist, and Don Cannon also worked on it.

In May 2009, Bobby Creekwater released his second EP, The BC Era Deuce. An EP (Extended Play) is a music release with more songs than a single but fewer than an album. He released it through his own company, BGOV, Inc.

He left Shady Records in 2009. His song, "The Day I Got Dropped," explained that he chose to leave the label. He was not dropped by them.

In 2014, Creekwater released another mixtape called I Am From A Place. He continues to release music, with his latest mixtape, SCM Radio, Vol. 1, coming out in 2020.

Musical Influences

Bobby Creekwater is greatly inspired by the Atlanta hip-hop group OutKast. He has said that he believes André 3000, a member of OutKast, is the best rapper ever. In April 2010, Creekwater released a song called "Da Art of Storytellin' Pt.5" as a tribute to OutKast.
