Bobby Creekwater's Story

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Bobby Creekwater grew up in and around Atlanta, Georgia. He went to Clark Atlanta University for a year. But he soon left to follow his dream of making music. He teamed up with Charlie Jangles to form a hip-hop group called Jatis. They signed with Columbia Records and later Loud Records. However, Loud Records closed down before Jatis could release their first album.

Joining Shady Records

In 2004, before he had a record deal, Bobby Creekwater appeared on a song called "Anyway." This song was on P-Money's album, Magic City. Music executives from Shady Records heard him rap on a demo tape. Eminem, who leads Shady Records, was very impressed with Bobby Creekwater. In mid-2005, Eminem signed him to his record label.

In late 2005, Bobby Creekwater released his first mixtape, called Anthem to the Streets. Mixtapes are like collections of songs, often released for free.

Eminem Presents the Re-Up

In December 2006, Eminem released an album called Eminem Presents the Re-Up. This album was made to introduce new artists on Shady Records. These artists included Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater, and Cashis. Bobby Creekwater was featured on five songs on the album. These included new versions of popular songs like "Shake That" and "Smack That".

Music critics had good things to say about Bobby Creekwater's performances. One newspaper said he "sounds like a demonic André 3000" (a famous rapper). Another mentioned his "deep tone and a smooth enough flow."

Later Mixtapes and Leaving Shady Records

In 2007, he released two more mixtapes: Anthem 2 Da Streetz II and Back to Briefcase. A critic from The Washington Post wrote that Bobby Creekwater's song "Acid Reign" showed he could become a top rapper.

He started working on his first official album, A Brilliant Mistake. Eminem was the main producer for this album. Other famous producers like Mr. Porter and The Alchemist also worked on it.

In 2009, Bobby Creekwater released his second EP (Extended Play) called The BC Era Deuce. An EP is shorter than an album but longer than a single song. This EP had eleven new songs.

Bobby Creekwater left Shady Records in 2009. He later released a song called "The Day I Got Dropped." In this song, he explained that he wasn't actually "dropped" or kicked off the label.

In 2014, he released another mixtape called I Am From A Place.

Who Inspired Bobby Creekwater?

Bobby Creekwater is greatly influenced by the famous Atlanta hip-hop group OutKast. He has said that he believes André 3000, a member of OutKast, is the best rapper ever. In 2010, Bobby Creekwater released a song called "Da Art of Storytellin' Pt.5." This song was a tribute to OutKast.
