What is Bolts and Blip About?
The story of Bolts and Blip takes place on the moon in the year 2080. It follows two friendly robots, Bolts and Blip, who are a bit clumsy. They accidentally become part of the Lunar League, a big sports competition. The problem is, they join the worst team, called the Thunderbolts!
With their unusual teammates, Bolts and Blip learn about teamwork and what they are truly capable of. They face many challenges in this exciting intergalactic sports world.
Who are the Main Characters?
The show features many unique robot characters. Here are some of the most important ones:
Meet the Main Robot Heroes
- Blip (voiced by Matt Murray) – He is one of the main characters and tries to follow the rules. Blip is best friends with Bolts and often has to help him out of trouble. He is more sensible than Bolts. Blip has a big crush on Saedee. Later, it's revealed he has secret powers called "Super Mode," making him taller, stronger, faster, and able to fly! He has a robot mouse named Squeaker who only attacks Bolts.
- Bolts (voiced by Terry McGurrin) – The other main character, Bolts is playful and often gets into trouble. He sometimes shows he can be smart and creative. Bolts is the team's comedian and often makes Coach Gridiron frustrated. He also has hidden powers, where his eyes turn red and he becomes super strong. It turns out he is "Blood's Bot," a special robot created by the evil Dr. Blood.
Who Else is on the Team?
- Saedee (voiced by Melissa Altro) – She is the captain of the Thunderbolts. Saedee is a special robot model who sometimes has funny malfunctions, like her legs kicking on their own. Blip likes her a lot, and even though she tries to hide it, she likes him too.
- Coach Gridiron (voiced by Patrick Garrow) – He is the short-tempered coach of the Thunderbolts. He uses tough training to try and make the team better. Deep down, he cares about his team. His head sometimes steams and blows off when he gets angry!
- Tigrr Jaxxon (voiced by Glenn Coulson) – He is the best player in the Lunar League and plays for the top team, the All Stars. Tigrr is very proud and a bit arrogant, but he's not very smart. He is secretly a bit of a coward.
- Dr. Arthur Blood (voiced by Colin Fox) – The main bad guy of the show. He is an evil human scientist who used to work with Dr. Tommy. He created the Bloodbots, which are robots designed only for fighting.
- D-Gor – Dr. Blood's servant. He is a bit clumsy and often gets yelled at or hit on the head by Dr. Blood.
Other Interesting Characters
- Steve (voiced by Jonathan Wilson) – Coach Gridiron's small assistant. Steve is often ignored because he is tiny and not very good at his job. He secretly wants Coach Gridiron's job. He and Bolts often fight.
- Welder (voiced by Martin Julien) – A kind and big robot who wishes he was younger and shinier.
- Ratch-8 (voiced by Paul Wensley) – A teammate on the Thunderbolts. His name sounds like "ratchet."
- The Reformatter – A scary machine that captures robots and turns them into household appliances. Robots on the moon are very afraid of it.
- Dr. Tommy (voiced by Dwayne Hill) – He is a brilliant doctor who created almost all the robots on the moon. He also created Blip and a mysterious Black Box with special powers. He used to work with Dr. Blood but stopped when he found out about Dr. Blood's evil plans.
- The Blood Bots – These are Dr. Blood's soldiers. They all look the same, are red, have one glowing eye, and cannons instead of hands. They don't show emotions and only follow Dr. Blood's orders.
- Klank Lockton and Lock Clankton (both voiced by Dwayne Hill) – These two robots are the announcers for the Lunar League games. Klank is loud and always talks over Lock, who rarely gets to speak.
- Vinnie Two-Chimes – A scary robot mob boss. He looks like a tiny, simple box-shaped robot on wheels, but he has two huge robot henchmen. He often tricks Bolts, who owes him a lot of money.
- Motbot – A mysterious robot who hides in trash cans. He helps Blip learn about his secret past and guides him to become Dr. Tommy's Secret Bot.
- The Schleprechauns – These are robot leprechauns who collect scrap metal to make Goldium. Goldium is a valuable material that can make electronic devices much more powerful.
- Helsing-V – A robot vampire hunter. He helps Blip fight a robot-vampire virus that infects the Thunderbolts team. He often disappears in puffs of smoke.
- Supreme Ambassador Garry – The person in charge of Earth Command. He is bossy and often ignores his duties to play golf.
