Bonastre's Rich History
Bonastre has a long and interesting history. In 1178, a local lord named Bernat de Papiol gave the village to the St Cugat Monastery. This monastery was a very important religious place.
Later, in 1382, King Pedro IV took control of Bonastre for the royal family. However, the monastery still managed the village for many years. They continued to govern Bonastre until the 1600s.
During a time known as the Trienio Liberal (1820-1823), Bonastre supported the royalists. These were people who wanted the king to have more power. In 1822, a group of militia attacked the town. Many people in Bonastre had to run away to the mountains. But when the militia left, royalist troops attacked them and won.
Important Buildings and Sights

Another interesting building is "can Fontanilles." This house was also built in the 1800s. It has cool designs on its front. These designs include the symbols of Bonastre and Catalonia.
