Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, born on June 20, 1929, is a retired American actress. She had a long career in acting, lasting about 70 years. Her first big role was in a TV show called Love of Life in the 1950s.
Many people know Bonnie Bartlett for playing Grace Snider Edwards on the TV series Little House on the Prairie. She also played Ellen Craig on the medical drama St. Elsewhere. Her husband, actor William Daniels, played her husband on St. Elsewhere too. In 1986, they both won Emmy Awards on the same night. They were the first married couple to do this since 1965.

Early Life and Education
Bonnie Bartlett was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. She grew up in Moline, Illinois. Her father used to be an actor. However, he stopped acting because her mother wanted to live in Wisconsin.
In 1947, Bonnie graduated from Moline High School. She then went to Northwestern University. She earned her degree from there in 1951.
Acting Career
Bonnie Bartlett started her TV career in 1955. She played Vanessa Dale Raven on the soap opera Love of Life. She was on the show until 1959. After that, she began acting in night-time TV shows in the 1960s.
Famous TV Roles
From 1974 to 1977, she played Grace Snider Edwards on Little House on the Prairie. Her character became more important on the show over time. Grace married Isaiah Edwards, played by Victor French.
Bonnie also played Ellen Craig on St. Elsewhere. Her role grew bigger in the 1984–1985 season. The story showed Ellen and Mark's marriage problems. Later, their son died, and they had to raise their granddaughter. Bonnie Bartlett won two Emmy Awards in a row for her role as Ellen Craig.
For many years, Bonnie Bartlett took on smaller roles. She appeared on shows like The Golden Girls and The Waltons. Her acting career became very busy in the 1980s. She was in TV miniseries like V. She also played the mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito's characters in the 1988 movie Twins.

In 1986, Bonnie Bartlett and her husband, William Daniels, made history. They were the second real-life married couple to win acting Emmys on the same night. They won for their roles as Dr. Mark and Mrs. Ellen Craig on St. Elsewhere.
Later, they acted together again on the ABC show Boy Meets World. Bonnie played a college dean who hired her husband's character. Their characters even got married on the show.
Later Roles
After St. Elsewhere ended in 1988, Bonnie Bartlett continued to appear in many TV shows. She played a tough business owner on Wiseguy. She was also on seaQuest DSV and Home Improvement. On Home Improvement, she played Lucille Taylor, Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor's mother. She also appeared on ER as Ruth Katherine Greene.

They adopted two sons. Michael became an assistant director. Robert became an artist and computer graphics designer.
