Saving Shiloh is a 2006 American family drama film. It was directed by Sandy Tung. The movie is based on a book by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It is the third and last film in a series. The other movies are Shiloh and Shiloh Season.
What the Movie is About
The story begins with Marty Preston (Jason Dolley) telling us about the first two Shiloh movies. Judd Travers (Scott Wilson) then visits Marty's family. He brings them dead squirrels as a gift. This is his way of thanking them for helping him after a truck accident. Shiloh, Marty's dog, is still scared of Judd and hides. Marty's little sister, Becky (Liberty Smith), says Judd is the meanest man. Judd just says he has eaten squirrels his whole life.
Soon, Marty's friends, David Howard (Jordan Garrett) and Sam Wallace (Taylor Momsen), tell him that Judd is in serious trouble after a fight. Even though Judd has been difficult, Marty believes he is innocent. Marty decides to help Judd. He brings Judd some food and offers his support.
Later, Marty helps Judd build a fence for his hunting dogs. Judd accidentally steps on one of his dog's paws. The dog gets angry and bites Judd's leg. Judd shows no fear. He grabs the dog and swings it at the fence.
After this, Marty's other sister, Dara Lynn (Kyle Chavarria), falls into a lake. Marty quickly jumps in to save her. Shiloh tries to help but gets caught in the strong water current. The current is pulling Shiloh towards Miller Falls, a waterfall. Marty goes back into the lake to save Shiloh. But Marty gets stuck on a tree branch.
Seeing this, Judd bravely jumps off a cliff into the lake. He frees Marty from the branch. Marty tells Judd that Shiloh will go over the waterfall if he doesn't save him. Judd then saves Shiloh from the dangerous current. This brave act helps Judd become friends with Marty and Shiloh. Judd even joins the local fire and rescue team. The movie ends with Marty saying, "If you open your heart, anything is possible."
