Bonnie Lake is a beautiful lake in Alberta, Canada. It's a great place for outdoor fun and relaxation! You can find it about 6 kilometers (4 miles) from a town called Vilna, Alberta. The lake is north of Highway 28. It is also part of the larger North Saskatchewan River water system.

Lake Details

Bonnie Lake covers an area of about 3.77 square kilometers (1.46 square miles). At its deepest point, the lake is about 6.1 meters (20 feet) deep. On average, the water is about 3.1 meters (10 feet) deep.

The lake gets its water from a surrounding area of about 49.6 square kilometers (19.2 square miles). Water flows out of Bonnie Lake from its south shore into a stream called Stony Creek. This creek then flows into the North Saskatchewan River.

Bonnie Lake is a popular spot for people who love the outdoors. There is a small campground right by the lake. It has 25 campsites, some with power, and a nice beach where you can swim and relax. This area is managed as the Bonnie Lake Provincial Recreation Area.

While there are not many fish in the lake, it is a fantastic place for birdwatching! Many different kinds of birds visit or live around the lake. If you enjoy golf, there is also a small golf course very close to the lake. It's a perfect spot for a family outing or a quiet day in nature.
