Boom Bam, born Gene Heisser in 1974, is an American rapper. He is famous for being a member of the hip hop group Compton's Most Wanted. He was also part of another rap group called N.O.T.R.

Heisser was born in Compton, California. He became good friends with future rappers MC Eiht and Tha Chill when they were all in junior high school. This friendship would last for many years.

Career in Music

Compton's Most Wanted

In 1987, MC Eiht and Tha Chill started the rap group Compton's Most Wanted. They were joined by DJs Mike T and Slip. Their first album, It's A Compton Thang!, came out in 1990. The group became very popular, first on the West Coast of the United States and then around the world.

When Compton's Most Wanted reunited in 2000 for the album Represent, Bam officially joined the group.

N.O.T.R. and Solo Work

After Compton's Most Wanted stopped making music together in 1993, Bam, MC Eiht, and Tha Chill formed a new group called N.O.T.R. A record company, Atlantic Records, bought their album but decided not to release it. Only a few underground copies of the album exist today.

Bam also worked with MC Eiht on some of his solo albums.

Movie Appearances

Boom Bam has also appeared in a few movies. He had a small part in the popular 1993 movie Menace II Society. He also had a brief role in the backyard scene of the movie Boyz n the Hood. In 1997, he appeared in the documentary Rhyme & Reason.

Later Years

Boom Bam has been working on his first solo album, called Still Wanted. The album was planned for release in 2012, but work on it has continued over the years. The album is expected to feature a diss track (a song made to criticize another artist) aimed at MC Eiht.
