Aaron Bernard Tyler (born May 22, 1971), known as MC Eiht (pronounced "MC Eight"), is an American rapper. Many of his songs share stories about life in Compton, California. His stage name, Eiht, was inspired by the number in KRS-One's name. It also connects to "hood culture" references like "8 Ball" and .38 caliber firearms. He is a key member of the West Coast hip hop group Compton's Most Wanted. Other members included Boom Bam, The Unknown DJ, Tha Chill, DJ Mike T, DJ Slip, and Ant Capone. MC Eiht is also famous for playing A-Wax in the 1993 movie Menace II Society. He also voiced the character Ryder in the 2004 video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Career
Early Music and Acting
Aaron Tyler was born in Compton, California. He became well-known on the West Coast as one of two MCs in the group Compton's Most Wanted. The group became more and more successful. Their album Music to Driveby in 1992 was a big hit.
After this, Eiht got a role in the popular movie Menace II Society. He also had a song on the movie's soundtrack called "Streiht Up Menace". Many people think this song is one of his best works. The movie helped him start his solo music career. His first two solo albums, We Come Strapped and Death Threatz, were released as MC Eiht featuring Compton's Most Wanted.
Acting and Video Games
MC Eiht decided he wanted to keep a serious public image. Because of this, he chose not to act in comedy films. He later appeared in movies like Reasons, Thicker than Water, and Who Made the Potatoe Salad?.
He also lent his voice to characters in video games. He voiced Lance 'Ryder' Wilson in the popular game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. His music, both solo and with Compton's Most Wanted, has also been featured in the Grand Theft Auto game series.
Later Music and Collaborations
MC Eiht released Last Man Standing, his first album only credited to him. After this, he moved between different record labels. He released the album Section 8 in 1999 on Priority/EMI.
In the early 2000s, he continued to release music on independent labels. He also put out albums with other artists like Spice 1 and Brotha Lynch Hung. He joined a group called the Warzone. This group was put together by Snoop Dogg and included Goldie Loc, Kam, and MC Eiht. In 2006, they appeared on Snoop Dogg's album Tha Blue Carpet Treatment on the song "Candy (Drippin' Like Water)".
In 2011, MC Eiht released his song "Fine By Me". It came with a music video and was released under his new label, Year Round/Blue Stamp Records. This label is owned by the hip hop artist DJ Premier.
In 2012, MC Eiht was featured on the song "m.A.A.d city" by Kendrick Lamar. This song was on Kendrick Lamar's album Good Kid, m.A.A.d City. Eiht then released the Keep It Hood EP in 2013. He also planned a collaboration album with DJ Premier. In 2014, he released "Shut ’Em Down" with the Outlawz, a group linked to Tupac Shakur. This song was part of his album "Which Way Iz West LP".
