Robert Lee Greene Jr. (born July 2, 1970) is an American rapper better known by his stage name, Spice 1. He is from Hayward, California, and is known as one of the pioneers of the San Francisco Bay Area hip-hop music scene.
Spice 1 started releasing albums in the early 1990s. He became famous for his unique style of gangsta rap, a type of hip-hop that often tells stories about life in urban areas. He signed with Jive Records and released six albums with the label. Three of his albums, Spice 1, 187 He Wrote, and AmeriKKKa's Nightmare, were very successful and earned a gold certification. This means they each sold over 500,000 copies.

Personal Life
Robert Greene grew up in Hayward, California, where he went to Mt. Eden High School. When he started earning money from his music, he decided to focus completely on his career as an artist.
In 2007, he was injured in an incident outside his parents' home in Hayward but recovered.
