Boost Drinks Limited is a British company that makes drinks. They mainly sell energy drinks and sports drinks. You can find their drinks in small shops, independent stores, and petrol stations. The company started in 2001 and its main office is in Leeds, England.
The Story of Boost Drinks
Boost Drinks was started on June 27, 2001, by Simon Gray. He was 28 years old and had just finished university. Simon began the company with a bank loan of £30,000. He wanted to sell Boost drinks in smaller, independent shops. He felt it would be too hard to compete directly with very big brands.
The company was first called Blast UK Limited. But in July 2001, its name changed to Boost Drinks Limited. Simon paid back the bank loan within the first year. Soon, Boost drinks were sold in other countries like Spain, Croatia, South Africa, and Nigeria. In 2003, Boost launched in Northern Ireland. By 2018, about 15% of the company's total sales came from Northern Ireland.
By 2011, Boost Drinks had eight employees. Their products were sold in 12 different countries. In 2020, the prices of some Boost products went up. In September 2020, Boost started a big marketing campaign called "Choose Now." This campaign also gave £10,000 to three community groups. In June 2021, Boost started a "Boost Retailer Hall of Fame" in Northern Ireland. The first winner was Kearney's shop in Randalstown, County Antrim.
In December 2022, a company called A.G. Barr bought Boost Drinks. They paid £20 million for the company.
Working with Others
Boost Drinks has worked with different groups and companies. Since 2019, they have partnered with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland. In 2019, Boost gave £10,000 to this charity.
In February 2021, Boost Drinks made a deal with Hall & Woodhouse, a brewery. Boost became responsible for selling and marketing the soft drink brand Rio. Boost Drinks also became the official energy drinks partner for Leeds United football club. This partnership was for the 2021–22 Premier League season.
Boost Products
In 2010, Boost tried to sell a smoothie drink. However, people did not like it much, so they stopped selling it. Boost has also released special "limited edition" flavours for their energy and sports drinks. These have included a 'Winter Spice' flavour in 2015 and a tropical flavour in 2016. They also released pomegranate and blueberry in 2017, and grape and cherry in 2018.
Boost also started selling protein drinks in 2016. In 2020, they launched a range of iced coffee drinks. In 2022, Boost released a new line of fruit-flavoured drinks called "Juic'd."
