Booth is a small place in Monongalia County, West Virginia, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's managed by the county.
Booth is located along County Route 45. It is also close to the Monongahela River. You can find it about 3.9 miles (6.3 km) southwest of a bigger city called Morgantown.
History of Booth
Booth once had its own post office. This post office first opened on December 24, 1926. It helped people in Booth send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down on November 9, 2002.
An older name for this community was River Seam. This name might have come from its location near the river or perhaps from coal mining activities in the area. Many communities in West Virginia were once important for coal.
