Boreads facts for kids
The Boreads are two brothers from Greek mythology. Their names are Calaïs and Zethes. They are special because they are the twin sons of Boreas, who is the god of the north wind.
Mythology
Calaïs and Zethes were the sons of Boreas and a princess named Oreithyia. She was the daughter of King Erechtheus of Athens.
These brothers were very fast! Some stories say they could run as quickly as the wind. Others say they could fly because they had large wings. These wings were either on their feet or on their backs.
The Boreads were also famous heroes. They joined Jason and his crew, the Argonauts. They went on a big adventure to find the magical Golden Fleece.
