Borja San Emeterio Díaz (born on March 16, 1997) is a Spanish football player. He plays as a right-back, which is a defensive position, for the team Intercity.

Club career

Racing

Borja was born in Sierra de Ibio, a place in Mazcuerras, Cantabria. He joined the youth system of Racing de Santander in 2007 when he was 10 years old. He first played for the club's reserve team, called Racing B, during the 2014–15 season. This was in a league called the Tercera División.

Borja played his first professional match on November 16. He started in a game that ended in a 0–0 draw against CD Lugo. This match was part of the Segunda División, which is a higher league.

Sevilla

On August 16, 2016, Borja and his twin brother moved to another reserve team. They both signed a three-year contract with Sevilla Atlético. This team also played in the second division.

In his first year, Borja did not play much. But in his second year, the 2017–18 season, he played more often. Unfortunately, that season ended with the team being moved down to a lower league, which is called relegation.

Lugo

Borja joined Lugo on August 1, 2018. He signed a three-year contract with them. On January 23 of the next year, he was loaned to Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa. A loan means he played for them temporarily until June. This team was in the third tier of Spanish football.

On July 12, 2019, Borja moved to CD Atlético Baleares on another temporary loan deal. This team was in the same league. When he returned to Lugo, he ended his contract with them on September 7, 2020.

Numancia

Just a few hours after leaving Lugo, Borja signed a two-year contract with CD Numancia on September 7, 2020. This team had recently been relegated from the second division.

Borja helped Numancia get promoted to the Primera Federación in the 2021–22 season. However, the very next season, they were immediately relegated again.

Tarazona and Intercity

After leaving Numancia, Borja played for SD Tarazona for the 2023–2024 season. He played 34 games and scored 4 goals for them. In 2024, he joined Intercity, where he continues his career.
