Borja's Football Journey
Starting with Racing
Borja was born in Sierra de Ibio, Mazcuerras, in Cantabria, Spain. He started playing football at a young age. When he was 10, in 2007, he joined the youth team of Racing de Santander.
He first played for Racing's reserve team, Racing B, in the 2014–15 season. Soon after, on November 16, 2014, he played his first professional game for the main Racing team. This was a match against CD Lugo that ended in a 0–0 draw.
Moving to Sevilla
On August 16, 2016, Borja and his twin brother joined Sevilla B. This is the reserve team for the bigger club, Sevilla. They signed a three-year contract.
In his first year with Sevilla B, Borja did not play much. However, in his second year, the 2017–18 season, he played more often. Unfortunately, that season ended with the team being moved down to a lower league.
Time with Lugo and Loan Spells
Borja joined Lugo on August 1, 2018, signing a three-year deal. But he soon went on loan to other teams. On January 23, 2019, he was loaned to Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa until June.
Then, on July 12, 2019, Borja moved to CD Atlético Baleares on another temporary deal. After these loan periods, he ended his contract with Lugo on September 7, 2020.
Playing for Numancia
Just hours after leaving Lugo, Borja signed a two-year contract with Numancia on September 7, 2020. Numancia had recently been moved down to a lower league.
Borja helped Numancia get promoted to a higher league in the 2021–22 season. However, in the very next season, 2022–23, the team was moved down again.
Recent Clubs
After Numancia, Borja played for Tarazona from 2023 to 2024. He then joined Intercity in 2024, where he plays as a right-back today.
