History of Boston, Indiana
Boston got its name from the famous city of Boston, Massachusetts. When it was first planned out in 1832, it was called New Boston. A post office was opened in the town in 1837.
In 1849, the town faced a very difficult time when a serious illness affected many residents. Out of 120 people living there, 53 became very sick over five weeks.
The local government for Boston Township is run by the Boston Township Council. This council has five members, and one of them serves as the council president.
