History of Bourbon
The town of Bourbon was started in 1853. This happened because a railroad was planned to go through that area. The town got its name from Bourbon Township. The township itself was named after Bourbon County, Kentucky. Many of the first people who settled here came from that part of Kentucky.
A special building in the town, the Bourbon Community Building-Gymnasium, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. This means it is an important historical site.
