How Boys Ranch Started
Boys Ranch was created in 1939 by a man named Cal Farley. He was born on December 25, 1895, and passed away on February 19, 1967. Cal Farley started this place to help young people who needed a safe and supportive home.
In 2010, Boys Ranch became a new census-designated place (CDP). At that time, its population was 282 people.
About Cal Farley
Cal Farley was originally from Sexton, Iowa. His parents, Frank and Jennie Farley, later moved to a farm in Minnesota. Cal Farley moved to Amarillo in 1923. He was also known for his work in professional wrestling. He worked with famous wrestlers like Dory Funk and Dutch Mantel.
